The consultation is a chance for us to get to know each other and decide the next steps for your project. Most often this takes place in-person at your site, but in some instances a video call works too. This is an opportunity for us to discuss your garden goals and desires, learn more about the specific conditions on your site, take measurements and samples, and note the surrounding area for obstacles and opportunities.

Please note that specific garden plans with plant recommendations will not be available during the on-site consultation; some general plant recommendations may be provided in the follow-up email.  For a personalized and detailed plan, you can request a garden design (see the following drop-down for details).  Please let us know if this interests you so we can record the appropriate information during our initial visit. 

The consultation fee is $75.  This includes the site walk though (~1 hour) and a follow-up email summarizing our findings and recommendations for the best ecological garden approach for your site. 

For DIY customers seeking ecological gardening advice, a consultation may be all that is required.

A garden design begins with the consultation process.  Once we have gathered the information and specifications for your site, we will create a design for your garden and begin sourcing the plants.  You will be emailed a copy of the design plan to review and approve.  If the plan requires significant modifications after your review, additional fees will apply.

We do our best to design with plants that are currently available from our suppliers.  It is possible that plant availability will change between the time of the design and the time of installation and appropriate substitutions may be made.

The starting fee for a design is $100.  An additional cost of $0.50 - $1.25 per sq. ft. of designed garden will be added, depending on how detailed or complex your design requirements are.  We will discuss this with you beforehand.

Please note: we provide designs for native plant gardens.  A professional landscape designer is better suited for you if you have a full-yard project involving patios, stonework, retaining walls, etc.

Garden installations typically follow the consultation and design stages.  If you already have a design you'd like to install, we are happy to do the work.  Once we've gotten to know you and your site, and have agreed upon a plan, we are ready to get our hands dirty!  We can collect and deliver the plants and materials, or you may choose to do that yourself.  We can discuss this beforehand.

The cost for garden installations is $50 for the first hour, and $35 for each additional hour of the visit.

Plants and materials will be extra and a down payment of 50% for materials is required prior to installation.

We provide installations for native plant gardens.  A professional landscaper is better suited for you if you have a full-yard project involving patios, stonework, retaining walls, sod laying, etc.

Whether we've installed your garden for you, or you have an existing garden you'd like our help maintaining, we're here to lend a hand.

We are available to visit and maintain your gardens with tasks such as weeding, mulching, light pruning, watering, edging, soil amending, dividing and transplanting, seasonal preparation in spring and fall, and scouting for pests and animal damage.

The cost for garden maintenance is $50 for the first hour, and $35 for each additional hour of the visit.

We do not offer lawn mowing, sod installation, or mature tree pruning.
